About DUMBO Hub
DUMBO Hub is an independent guide to the half-square mile of Brooklyn tucked between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. We're not a tourism board, a developer, or a publication chasing scale — we're neighbors documenting the streets we walk every day.
Our mission
DUMBO has always been a neighborhood of reinventions — from rope walks and machine shops to artist lofts and now tech offices and galleries. Our job is to keep the record honest: who's here, what's opening, what's closing, who built this place, and what makes it worth a Saturday morning walk across Washington Street.
Every business, event, and person on this site is independently researched. We don't take payment for listings, and we mark sponsored content clearly when it appears.
What we cover
- Directory — every independent shop, restaurant, studio, and gallery between the bridges.
- Events — Photoville, the Bridge Jam, the annual DUMBO Drop, and the smaller things on the calendar.
- People — the artists, builders, and operators who define the neighborhood today and who defined it yesterday.
- Journal — long-form pieces on history, architecture, and the slow politics of a neighborhood that keeps changing.
- Tours & merch — walking tours and a small line of neighborhood goods that keep this site free to read.
How we make money
DUMBO Hub is supported by walking tour bookings, a small membership program, and a curated merch shop. We don't sell user data, and we don't run pop-ups. When we eventually run display ads they'll be unobtrusive and clearly labeled.
