What's in this season's basket
Every quarter we assemble a basket entirely from businesses between the bridges — no national brands, no drop-shipped filler. This season's bundle includes a twelve-ounce bag of single-origin beans roasted on Jay Street, a signed archival print of the Manhattan Bridge framed by Washington Street, a hand-thrown mug from a Water Street ceramics studio, a bar of chocolate made a few blocks away, and two seats on our next Bridge & Waterfront walking tour. Retail value is roughly $220.
We pay full price for everything in the basket. Makers are not charged for inclusion and don't get editorial coverage in exchange — the point is to put money into neighborhood businesses and then hand the results to a reader.
How entry works
- Share the giveaway with one person who would actually enjoy DUMBO — a link to a friend, a post, or a story. Sharing unlocks the entry form on this page.
- Fill in your name and email. That's your single entry; duplicate entries from the same email address are removed before the draw.
- Wait for the quarterly draw. We announce the winner in the newsletter and email them directly from hello@dumbo.life.
Prefer not to share? Email hello@dumbo.life with the subject line "Giveaway entry" and we'll add you manually. Mail-in and shared entries have identical odds.
Official rules
- No purchase necessary. A purchase or payment of any kind will not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited.
- Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees and contributors of DUMBO Hub and their immediate families are not eligible.
- Entry period. Each giveaway runs for one calendar quarter and closes at 11:59 PM ET on the last day of that quarter.
- Winner selection. One winner is drawn at random from all valid entries within five business days of the close of the entry period.
- Notification. Winners are contacted at the email address they entered with. If there is no response within 14 days, the prize is forfeited and a replacement winner is drawn.
- Prize terms. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Tour seats are subject to availability and must be redeemed within twelve months. Winners are responsible for any taxes.
- Privacy. Entry details are used only to run the draw and, if you opt in, to send the newsletter. We never sell entrant data. See our privacy policy.

Questions we get asked
Do I need to live in Brooklyn?
No. Anyone in the US can enter. Just note that the tour seats and any pickup items have to be redeemed in DUMBO, so plan a visit if you win from out of town.
Can I enter more than once?
One entry per person per quarter. Entering again in the next quarter is encouraged — past entrants are not excluded.
Will you email me constantly?
No. Entering signs you up for nothing by default. The newsletter is a separate, optional checkbox and goes out roughly twice a month.
How do I know a real person won?
We publish the winner's first name, neighborhood, and a photo of the handoff in the newsletter and on the journal, with their permission.
